I my second blog post for Hive Mind, I explore the stages of emotional development and how they affect leadership, especially for civil society organizations (CSOs) operating in stressful areas or times of crisis.
This post shows you how to go from emotional inaccessibility to emotional professionalism as a leader. Being a professional means choosing the ways that will pay off over time over short-term comfort, even when doing things you don't really want to.
The post also explains why the belief
"I'm like a stone, I don't feel emotions. I'm an intellectual being only."
is the least helpful way to lead activists.
